WebMay 13, 2010 · You don't need either, Bob. If the engine isn't using oil or smoking then no need to waste money. Evo bottom ends are bullet proof. If you want to eliminate that noise, replace the lifters. HD now recommends you replace them at 25K regardless. The "B" model lifters have the larger roller axels.
