Seat belt retracts slow
Web3 Dec 2011 · My driver's side seat belt is slow to retract (needs to be coaxed to roll back in). How can I tighten it? Anybody know? It's awfully quiet here. Here are some pics of the car after I put on winter tires and also pics of the plastic job I did in the foot well (tired of cleaning up salt in the spring). Web16 Nov 2024 · First clean the seat belt and put some lube on the piece of plastic the seat belt travels through. See if that doesn't help. I can do that!! Sounds like a good use for dry lube. I did pull out the belt to it's full travel to check for anything causing it to be slow at recoiling...didn't find anything tho. The passenger side seat belt on my car seems to be ok & re-coil as it should, where the drivers side is a little lethargic.

However, we had a similar issue with our 2024 Honday Ridgeline rear seat belts. I mixed a small amount of washing up liquid and hot water and cleaned the seat belt. I pulled the best out as far as it can go and kept washing with the solution and a microfibre cloth. Washing the belts helped but didn’t solve the problem so I used Silicone spray the whole length of the belt, both sides, which has sorted the problem.
